Tangier and its beautiful medina.

Tangier and its beautiful medina.

Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog!

How are you today?

After my posts about Chefchaouen and Tetouan, I would like to write some notes on Tangier, another of the Moroccan cities I visited with my mother last April.

Because of a traffic accident we found on one of the main roads, we couldn't spend a lot of time in Tangier, but the few hours we spent there were worth it. There we stayed at a hotel called Dar Jameel, right in the centre of the old medina. Getting there is slightly complicated because streets are very narrow (as it happens in medinas), but Dar Jameel is worth the walk it takes to get there. And that's precisely what you realise when the gates leading to the hall open - right then, you are welcomed by tiles of all colors and shapes ornamenting the walls, ceilings and floors of the hotel. The windows leading to the rooms are all made of glass in different shapes and colours which dye the room every time the lights are switched on. Moreover, the view from the rooftop terrace is also stunning, as it happened in Chefchaouen. From there, you can see the whole medina, with the mosks defining the skyline and the colorful houses giving said stunning medina all the life it needs; and the sea.

Tetouan: living a real Moroccan experience.

Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog! How is your day going on so far? I hope you're doing great!

After my last post about Chefchaouen, I couldn't wait to continue writing about Morroco and, as I already mentioned then, our second stop was Tetouan.

Chefchaouen, the blue African pearl.

Chefchaouen, the blue African pearl.

Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog!

After so long mentioning that I was in Morocco last April, I think it was about time I published one of the posts about that wonderful country.

I had always felt fascinated by Morocco - its culture, its architecture, the desert, the decoration, fabrics, jewellery and everything you can buy there, etc. and I couldn't wait to go. However, between one thing and the other, it was only this year when I finally managed to go.

Because of everything that had happened back home the previous year and a half, I decided that my mum needed a break from all the stress she had been through and I thought taking her with me would be one of the most perfect Christmas gifts I could ever give her. That's why, for Christmas, I gifted her - among other things - with an envelope containing a flight ticket and a reservation ticket to all the hotels where we were going to stay there.

The plan was simple: some days in Chefchaouen, known as "the blue pearl" because of its peculiar colour; one in Tetouan and two in Tangier. And that's what we did - only we just spent one day in Tangier due to time restrictions.

Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog!

Oh, it's been such a long time since I last posted something here! But the good news is that I've got a new laptop now and I'll be able to write as often as I want to. In fact, I have so many posts to publish that I don't think I'll manage to post them all before the summer break starts!

Another reason why I haven't posted anything in a while is because some weeks ago it was my birthday and I turned 30! So, as you can guess, I've been celebrating it over and over again with different people.
